When you compare Advantix vs Advantage you'll see that Advantix has one active ingredient that Advantage does not. It's called Permethrin and it's a pesticide. The Permethrin is what keep the ticks from latching onto your dog.
Both Advantix and Advantage are excellent medications. Other than the Permethrin the active ingredients are exactly the same. Both medications will kill most fleas within twelve hours and all of the fleas on your pet within twenty four hours.
Both Medications Are Waterproof
When you compare Advantix vs Advantage you'll also see that both medications still will work after you give your pet a bath or if they get caught in the rain. The active ingredients are absorbed into the bloodstream. Even though the medication is topical you don't need to worry about it washing off after you allow it to be absorbed.
How To Apply Advantix And Advantage
If you have more than one cat or more than one dog I would seperate them immediately after applying the medication. When I compared Advantix vs Advantage I learned that either medication can be licked off by a "helpful" friend that for one reason or another has decided they like the taste of the medication. Always apply the medication at the back of the neck so that your pet can't lick the medication off of itself.

If your pet is nursing or pregenant I would be very concerned about apply medications like Advantix or Advantage. Check with your veterinarian first before applying to pregnant or lactating pets.
