Scratching Posts

Stop Cat Straching Naturally With A Post

Cats love to scratch, unfortunately they love to scratch things like furniture and carpets. It doesn't matter if your cat has been tearing up your carpet for years, or you want to encourage your cat to scratch a scratching post. You can train them to use a cat scratching post!

You have to teach your cat to use the scratching post. Learn how below.

fronline for cats

We Didn't Always Use Frontline.

We made a big mistake! Not only did our cat get fleas but our cat gave the fleas to our other cat which in turn gave the fleas to our dog, before we even knew what hit us. We keep Frontline on hand at all times now. We had to bomb our whole house just because we got a little lazy with the frontline.

Now we stock up on inexpensive Frontline here every three to six months.

Before you can encourage and train your cat to use a cat scratching post you have to purchase a scratching post that they will likely use. There are so many expensive cat scratching posts on the market that it can be overwhelming.

The cat scratching posts that get the best consumer reviews have been around for a long time. Cat scratching posts have numerous designs but the ones that are raved about by consumers have been around for a very long time, or they at least have the same design elements.

What you want to look for in a cat scratching post is one that is more than just a post for you cat to scratch. The scratching post should be incorporated into a toy. Your cat will need something else other than a scratching post to catch their interest.

Another feature of good cat scratching posts is one that has a replacable sctratching element. Your cat will wear out the scratching element. If you cats love the sctratching posts enough to wear out the scratching element, you don't want to throw your cats beloved toy in the trash.

Many good cat scratching posts do have a scratching element that you can remove. The post manufacturer will sell refills for the post that you can easily remove and swap out with a new scratching element. Look for a post that does not have an expensive scratching post replacement. You don't want to pay too much, although consider the price of replacing a carpet.

With all that in mind, check out the Bergan Turbo Scratcher Cat Toy. Of course this cat scratching solution is reusable and you can purchase Replacement Pads.
